Norwich City boss Chris Hughton will try to sign a replacement for long-term injury concern Elliott Bennett before the transfer deadline.

The winger is expected to be out until next year with a knee problem suffered in last week's draw with Everton.

"Elliott was a big blow because apart from being a good lad to have around he also had a very good pre-season and did well in the Everton game.

"We'll see what we can do about filling that hole," said Hughton.

Hughton can turn to Robert Snodgrass and Anthony Pilkington to play out wide, with both men starting their first game of the season in Tuesday's 6-3 League Cup win over Bury.

The Canaries have also been linked with Australia international and Atalanta midfielder James Troisi, who was coached by Hughton at Newcastle until his departure in August 2008.

"He's a name that I know," the Canaries manager told 91�ȱ� Radio Norfolk. "But a lot of other names have been thrown into the equation and we're trying to do due diligence on.

"It's got to be right for us."
