Jack Hobbs: Nottingham Forest new boy eyes double promotion
New Nottingham Forest signing Jack Hobbs says he is intent on winning promotion for a second consecutive season after being told he was not part of Hull City's Premier League plans.
Hobbs, 24, has joined a on a season-long loan in a deal which will then see him sign a permanent two-year contract.
The defender played 22 games as Hull clinched automatic promotion last term.
But Hobbs told 91热爆 East Midlands Today: "I got told I was no longer in their plans which was hard to take."
However Hobbs is confident his new club will soon be in the top flight too.
"I am expecting us to get to the Premier League," he added. "I am itching to test myself at the highest level and am confident I can achieve that with Forest.
"I am excited to be here and hope to have a good season. The aim is promotion this season and the top two ideally."
Hobbs, who began his career at Lincoln and had offers from several clubs - including his former team Leicester City - to move to the City Ground.
"I believe they [Leicester] were slightly interested," Hobbs said. "I was flattered but have chosen to come to Forest and am really excited where the club is going.
"The ambition at the club is huge and there are some good experienced players here. It's exciting and I am really confident we can push on and do well.
"It's a huge club to play for. Billy Davies [Forest boss] was keen to get me here and I was keen to play under him and I also believe the owners are backing the club to give it a really good push so it seems the obvious choice."
