Blackpool sign MK Dons defender Gary MacKenzie
Gary MacKenzie has signed a two-year contract at Blackpool after joining from MK Dons for an undisclosed fee.
In addition, fellow defender Kirk Broadfoot has agreed a new one-year deal at Bloomfield Road.
Broadfoot, 28, played 34 times in his while 27-year-old MacKenzie finished last season on loan at Bloomfield Road.
MacKenzie made 12 appearances for Paul Ince's side, scoring twice, as Blackpool easily avoided relegation.
He told the "The three months that I had here were pretty good. It gave me a taste of Championship football and made my mind up of where I wanted to try and play."
The move may also help further MacKenzie's international ambitions, having been on the fringe of the Scotland squad in the past.
"It is not in this club's nature to stand in the way of a player's own personal progression. The opportunity to play in the Championship, and perhaps get the Scotland cap that currently eludes him, is too good to turn down," Dons boss Karl Robinson commented.
MacKenzie is Blackpool's first new signing of the summer, while ex-Rangers man Broadfoot was one of the few out-of-contract players offered new deals by the club at the end of last season.
