Thomas Rogne: Wigan Athletic sign former Celtic defender
Wigan Athletic have signed defender Thomas Rogne on a three-year deal following the expiry of his contract at Scottish champions Celtic.
The Norway international, 23, rejected a new Celtic deal after three years and 50 league games in favour of a move to the FA Cup holders.
No compensation will be paid to Celtic as Rogne is now over the age threshold for a fee for an international deal.
"It's an exciting chapter for me,"
"English football is something special and being Norwegian we follow the game over here very closely, so to be a part of it makes me very happy."
The defender joins Chris McCann and Stephen Crainey at the DW Stadium, as new manager Owen Coyle continues to develop his squad.
He has two senior caps, as well as helping Norway to the Under-21 European Championship semi-finals this summer.
