Peterborough Utd: Tommy Rowe focused despite Leeds interest

Peterborough United captain Tommy Rowe has said interest from Leeds United will not affect his commitment to Posh.

Director of football Barry Fry has said the 25-year-old, who is transfer-listed,

"It's always nice to hear clubs are interested," left-back Rowe told 91热爆 Radio Cambridgeshire.

"When I was younger at Stockport there were clubs interested, but I didn't let that affect me then."

He added: "If anything I'm stronger than ever to deal with it."

Rowe is available for transfer at London Road because of the club's policy of listing players who reject a new contract offer while in the final year of their deal.

The former Stockport wideman will be out of contract next summer and, despite failing to agree new terms, has been named captain by boss Darren Ferguson following the side's relegation to League One.

"The gaffer knows I'll always give my all. I carry a lot of pride when I play," said Rowe, who showed his versatility last term by playing at full-back and on the wing in his 32 games.

"This is a big year for the club. There's a big chance to not only go and win the league but to put big efforts into other competitions.

"No player at this club is thinking of anything other than winning games."
