Charlton Athletic: Andy Hughes signs new one-year contract
Charlton Athletic midfielder Andy Hughes has signed a new one-year deal with the Championship club.
The 35-year-old missed the majority of last season with an Achilles injury, but returned in March and went on to make six appearances.
"I can't put into words how happy I am," he told
"I'm honoured that the manager [Chris Powell] wants to keep me for another season. I feel I am very lucky to be given the chance to stay here."
Hughes has been with Charlton since 2011, having previously played for Oldham, Notts County, Reading, Norwich, Leeds and Scunthorpe.
