Sheffield United have bright future - Chris Morgan
Sheffield United caretaker boss Chris Morgan believes the club have had a strong season despite failing to reach the League One play-off final.
The Blades lost 2-0 to Yeovil on Monday to go out 2-1 on aggregate.
He told 91热爆 Radio Sheffield: "I've said to the lads that they should not underestimate what they have achieved this season.
"With the seniors we have and the young boys coming through I believe that we have a bright future."
He added: "There's been a lot of changes here and the players that have come in have done fantastically well to get us here.
"It's going to be hard work because no one gives you anything, but we have to come back for pre-season at the end of June and be ready to mount another challenge."
Morgan took over at Bramall Lane on a deal until the end of the season after Danny Wilson's departure in April.
The former Blades skipper has won two of his seven matches in charge and is hopeful that he will be in contention for the job on a full-time basis.
"I've spoke with the chairman and he knows that I want the job," Morgan said.
"I want the privilege to be able to keep working with those players and the staff that I've got.
"We always said we'd get these important games out of the way before sitting down and talking about it."
