Zander Diamond: Burton Albion have 'everything to lose'

Burton Albion defender Zander Diamond says the players will only consider it to have been a successful season if they gain promotion to League One.

The Brewers face Bradford City in the play-offs after finishing fourth in the final League Two table.

They travel to Yorkshire on Thursday before hosting the Bantams on Sunday.

"We've got everything to lose. People say we've had a great season, but it won't be if we go out in the semis," Diamond told 91热爆 Radio Derby.

"We wanted to get to League One, that's what we wanted to do this season. People have written us off all season, so why not go again and let them chew their words?"

The 27-year-old Scot joined the Brewers from Oldham last summer and has made 42 appearances so far this season.

He believes it will be important for his side to keep the Bradford fans quiet in the first leg.

"We need to keep it tight in the first leg and try and nick it in the second," added Diamond.

"They'll have around 20,000 fans in and their crowd gives them the extra momentum. If we can silence them and deal with their physical threat then we won't be far away.

"We know it will be difficult, but if we do the dirty side of the game then we can go and play our football.

"I'd encourage our fans to try and get down here for the second leg and give us the extra support we need."
