Bristol Rovers assistant Shaun North has left the club after being told his contract would not be renewed.

North, 53, joined the Pirates as assistant to Paul Buckle in 2011 and worked under Mark McGhee as well as current boss John Ward.

"He is an extremely hard worker and has always stepped up to help during periods of transition."

Ward will be assisted by Marcus Stewart for Saturday's trip to Torquay.
