Portsmouth add Jack Maloney to first-team squad
Portsmouth have added academy striker Jack Maloney to their first-team squad for the remainder of the season.
Maloney joined Pompey's academy aged 10 and made his professional debut against Plymouth in the League Cup last August.
And caretaker manager Guy Whittingham is predicting a bright future for the Isle of Wight-born 18-year-old.
"He's come through the academy and it's good we've managed to produce another player for the first-team squad," Whittingham told 91热爆 Radio Solent.
"He knows there is a lot of hard work ahead of him but hopefully he will enjoy it."
Meanwhile, Whittingham has confirmed midfielder Adam Reed has returned to Sunderland but that Portsmouth are hopeful of keeping forward Patrick Agyemang.
"We are in dialogue with Stevenage and we hope we can keep him for the rest of the season," added Whittingham.
"Adam Reed went back. He just wants to play games and he wasn't in the side. He didn't want to stay and not play."
