Sheffield Utd 0-0 MK Dons

Sheffield United remain in the automatic promotion places in League One after a goalless draw with MK Dons.

Jamie Murphy came close to giving the hosts the lead in the last minute of the first period but his header from Dave Kitson's cross went just over.

Antony Kay flicked Dean Bowditch's free-kick narrowly off target for the visitors.

Sub Jonathan Forte drew a fine save from Dons keeper Ian McLoughlin but neither side could break the deadlock.

The results means Blades are still in second place, three points behind leaders Doncaster with a game in hand.

Karl Robinson's side remain in 12th and are 10 points off the play-offs with 11 matches to play.

"I thought the fans were brilliant today, they kept us going. As the game went on I thought we took a grip of it. I thought we did really well but I thought there were a couple of decisions that could have gone our way.

"If you're not going to get the win, you make sure you don't lose.

"I thought the performance was fantastic at times. We can't really be critical in the way we've played, we've just been unfortunate in the chances that we've had."

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told 91热爆 Three Counties Radio:

"I think a point was fair today.

"It's important we build from this - I just hope it's not too late [for the play-offs].

"I wouldn't have taken a point before the game as I felt we were coming into this game with so much confidence and fluency.

"To lose Daniel Powell was a killer blow to us. We had a game plan in the first half which involved him, but we made the substitutions and we felt we got it right in the end."
