Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon is hopeful of another Scottish Cup final appearance after securing a 1-0 fifth-round victory against Aberdeen.

Gary Deegan's superb strike proved to be the winner as Ben Williams saved Scott Vernon's spot-kick late on and Hibs drew Kilmarnock in the last eight.

"We've got a real tough tie in the quarter-final," said Fenlon, whose side were runners-up last season.

"We've got a belief in ourselves that we can get to the final."

Fenlon praised his scorer and goalkeeper following the match at Easter Road.

"His overall game's been fantastic," he said of Williams.

"A good goalkeeper gives people confidence, gives the back four confidence. They known that, if people do get in behind them, we've got someone who is going to react to that.

"He [Deegan] can strike the ball quite well but I've known him a long time and I don't think I've ever seen him score from there.

"Second half was a bit better. First half, both teams cancelled each other out and there weren't many opportunities.

"The goal livened up the game. We got it and it meant Aberdeen probably had to be a bit more gung-ho, which they were and we defended well."
