Peter Odemwingie: West Brom forward to stay at The Hawthorns

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that forward Peter Odemwingie will not be leaving The Hawthorns this month.

Last week, the Baggies rejected an approach from Queens Park Rangers for the Nigeria international.

And West Brom technical director Richard Garlick insists that they are not willing to sell the 31-year-old.

"It's well documented about Peter. We had an offer and we don't intend to sell any of our players," said Garlick.

"When an offer comes in, we speak to the player out of courtesy. We've had that chat with Peter and he knows the situation."

Odemwingie scored 11 goals last season and has found the net five times in 19 games this campaign to help Albion into eighth place in the Premier League.

And Garlick, who replaced outgoing Dan Ashworth earlier this month, revealed it was unlikely manager Steve Clarke would be adding to his squad during the transfer window.

"We're happy with the squad we've got and there are no immediate plans to bring anyone in," he added.

"If an opportunity presents itself, then we will look at that, but we're looking more towards the summer."
