Portsmouth have signed Crawley's Shaun Cooper on a month-to-month loan basis.

The 29-year-old midfielder signed for Crawley in July 2012 after seven seasons at Bournemouth, but has played just 10 times for the Red Devils having missed three months through injury.

Cooper began his career at Pompey and has also had spells at Leyton Orient and Kidderminster.

Meanwhile, the club have also signed defender Sam Sodje and right back Yassin Moutaouakil.

Sodje, 32, is a free agent having left Notts County in May while 26-year-old Moutaouakil previously played for Hayes and Yeading.

And speaking about the signing of Cooper, caretaker boss Guy Whittingham said he was delighted to have signed the former Cherries man.

"He is experienced at the level we are playing at," Whittingham told 91热爆 Radio Solent.

Whittingham, who saw six players released earlier this month because of cost-cutting measures at the administration-hit club, added: "He is a local guy, he has been here before so he knows the club and most importantly he wants to play football.

"We want the type of player who will help us rebuild in the future and help the younger players and he fits the bill."
