Chris O'Grady targets Sheffield Wednesday consistency
Sheffield Wednesday striker Chris O'Grady says the team have the players to get away from relegation trouble but need to show greater consistency.
O'Grady's strike against Barnsley on Saturday saw the Owls bring an end to a run of seven successive defeats.
He told 91热爆 Radio Sheffield: "If you look at the players we have, you can't understand why we're in this position.
"It's a consistency issue and if we continue to be inconsistent then new players will come in."
He added: "We have to start putting some results together now, which we are capable of doing."
Wednesday started the match at their local rivals sitting at the bottom of the Championship table but victory means they are now only in the bottom three on goal difference.
The 26-year-old says the win was a reward for the team's improved work ethic.
"For the past three games we've got back to working hard. Annoyingly it didn't get us a result against Cardiff or Bristol City but thankfully it did on Saturday," he continued.
"There was a stage where we sat down and identified what our problems were and, I think it was the Leicester game, we pinpointed that we weren't working hard enough off the ball."
The Owls host Charlton on Saturday before visiting Bolton on Boxing Day.
