Tyrone Barnett joins Ipswich Town on loan from Peterborough
Ipswich Town have signed Peterborough United striker Tyrone Barnett on loan until 19 January.
Barnett was transfer-listed by Posh last week for going out in the city centre after a loss to Crystal Palace.
"It's been a difficult week, with what's gone on so I'm looking at this as a new start," he said.
However, under the terms of the deal, 27-year-old Barnett will not be able to face Peterborough in Saturday's bottom-of-the-table clash at Portman Road.
He arrived at Posh in February, initially on loan, after scoring 14 times in 26 league appearances for Crawley and completed a club-record 拢1m move three months later.
Barnett scored four goals in 13 games for Posh last season, but has netted just once in 10 this term.
"I've not done that as much as I would have liked this season,"
"Ipswich have given me a chance to come here and play some games and hopefully score some goals and that's what I'm looking to do.
"It's a fantastic football club. I have some good memories of the place after scoring here last season in one of my first games.
"Now I want to score goals for the club and I can't wait to get going."
Barnett was one of four players who went out in Peterborough following the Palace game on 10 November and manager Darren Ferguson subsequently made it clear that he and winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who has joined Portsmouth, did not have futures at the club.
