Everton manager David Moyes hits out at Steven Pienaar dismissal

Everton boss David Moyes described the decision to send off Steven Pienaar in the 1-1 draw with QPR as "ludicrous".

The South African was shown a second yellow card after a tangle of legs with defender Jose Bosingwa to leave Everton a man short for the final 30 minutes.

"To send a player off under those circumstances is a ludicrous decision," Moyes told 91热爆 Sport.

"He must have known the player was on a yellow card but he ends up giving him a red and sending him off anyway."

Moyes added: "We had the same referee against West Brom. He didn't perform well on that day, he didn't perform well today.

"It probably ruined our opportunity to go on and get the three points but the players have done a great job in making sure we have come away with something from the game."

Everton coped well with the man disadvantage, with Phil Jagielka producing a couple of crucial blocks to ensure the visitors took a point.

"Phil Jagielka played like a true England centre-half today," added Moyes.

"His defending was terrific in the box, when he was required he was there.

"All the boys at the back did a great job but I have singled him out because he put in one or two crucial blocks.

"Overall it was a hard fought point. It was always going to be difficult and so I am pleased we got something from the game."
