Oldham sign strikers Jose Baxter and Matt Derbyshire
Oldham have signed strikers Jose Baxter on a four-month contract and Matt Derbyshire on loan from Nottingham Forest until 27 October.
Baxter, 20, left Everton in the summer, despite being offered a two-year deal by the Premier League club.
Derbyshire has scored just twice since joining Forest from Greek side Olympiakos last summer.
Jordan Slew has been recalled by Blackburn after he was ruled out for 12 weeks with a back injury.
Both Baxter and Derbyshire will be available to make their debuts against League One leaders Notts County on Saturday.
Speaking to 91热爆 Sport earlier this week, Baxter explained the reasons behind his decision to reject a contract offer to remain with Everton.
He also said he had moved back in with his parents in Merseyside after an unsuccessful trial with Crystal Palace and had been training alone while searching for a new club.
"I have been stuck in the house," said Baxter. "When my mum comes in and asks me if I'm all right, I just say 'yeah' and give one-word answers to everything. I am frustrated and I am taking it out on the wrong people.
"I grew up from age six playing football every weekend and I have never looked any further than that - but now I have had this little step back, it has made me want it more and more. I just want to get back on a pitch and play."
