Watford's Britt Assombalonga extends Southend loan spell
Southend have extended the loan of Watford's teenage striker Britt Assombalonga until 3 January.
The 19-year-old has scored four goals in six games for the Shrimpers since initially joining them for a month.
"This has been may first taste of league football and it has been great,"
"If I can carry on learning my trade at Southend United then it will help me grab the attention of the manager back at Watford."
He had successful loan spells in non-league football with Wealdstone and Braintree last season.
"I've set myself a target of 20 goals for the season. Last year that target was 15 and I managed 16 so I am hoping to break another landmark this time round," he said.
