Manager Ian Bogie has said he is happy with Gateshead's progress this season despite his side letting in a late goal in their 1-1 draw with Lincoln City.

Gateshead sit seventh in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Bogie told "The positives are that we have taken nine points from the first five games. We're undefeated. We're on track.

"It was a jaded performance but the players have been fantastic over the past few weeks."

Bogie added that the Lincoln draw was a fair result: "It's probably what Lincoln deserved. They were a better side in the first half. We were really poor."

Midfielder James Marwood grabbed the lead for Gateshead just before half-time, only for striker Conner Robinson to score an 89th-minute goal and snatch a draw for the Imps.

Bogie added: "We gave possession away too cheaply and gave them too much freedom on the ball. We were surprised to be 1-0 up at half-time.

"Second half, we passed it better and created a lot more openings but never produced the killer touch in front of goal, which was vital to get the second goal. It came back to bite us with a late goal. It feels like a defeat."
