Fulham omit Clint Dempsey from squad to face Manchester United
Fulham have again omitted Clint Dempsey from their squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with Manchester United.
Dempsey did not feature in last weekend's 5-0 win over Norwich after telling manager Martin Jol
Liverpool have expressed an interest in signing the 拢7.5m-rated forward, but have yet to make a formal offer.
"It's the same situation. There has been no formal bid on the table and nothing has changed," Jol said.
Dempsey scored 23 goals in 46 appearances last season and has one year left on his contract at Craven Cottage.
The striker pulled out of Fulham's pre-season training camp in Switzerland - with the club saying the decision was based on the American's lack of match fitness - but Jol has said that Dempsey subsequently voiced his desire to leave the club.
"He [Dempsey] told me 'you know what I want to happen' and at that time it was to go to Liverpool. I told our people that we had to listen to other clubs, but there was no other club. There have been no firm offers for Clint," Jol told at the time.
"Clint feels he needs a move and that move was probably Liverpool, but Liverpool bought new players and no Clint, so we have ended up with a situation with Clint here at Fulham, but he is not committed to the club."
