Wolves needed a shoot-out to beat Aldershot in the League Cup first round in boss Stale Solbakken's first game.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake gave Wolves the lead after firing home on the turn after good work by Tongo Doumbia.

Michael Rankine headed home Josh Payne's corner to bring the game to extra-time and Wolves' Anthony Forde hit the post in the 116th minute.

In the penalty shoot-out Carl Ikeme saved Jordan Roberts's penalty after the first 13 kicks had been successful.
