Scott Laird reunited with old boss Graham Westley at Preston
Preston will sign full-back Scott Laird on a free transfer from fellow League One side Stevenage on 1 July.
The 24-year-old will link up again with Graham Westley, under whom he played at the Lamex Stadium.
Laird won two successive promotions with Stevenage and helped the club to the play-offs in their first season in League One.
He becomes Preston's eighth summer signing and will sign a two-year deal after rejecting Stevenage's offer.
John Welsh, Nicky Wroe, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff, Paul Huntington, David Buchanan, David Amoo and Richard Wright have also agreed deals to join North End when their contracts expire at their current clubs.
Laird told the club website: "When Graham showed a bit of interest and wanted to bring me here, I was chuffed.
"I had already made my mind up to come to Preston. It is steeped in history."
