Al Ahly against Stade Malien game put back two days

The African Champions League second-leg clash between Al Ahly and Stade Malien has been put back by two days, at Ahly's request.

Ahly asked for a delay after their team had been unable to leave Mali after the first leg because of an attempted counter-coup.

They spent a number of extra days in the capital Bamako before an Egyptian military plane flew them home.

The Confederation of African Football (Caf) made the announcement on Sunday.

Caf said the game will now be played on 14 May, having been originally scheduled for the 12th.

"Al Ahly made a request for the postponement to Caf after the team's late arrival in Cairo, due to civil unrest for some days following the first leg match," Caf said in a

Statde Malien scored late on in the first leg game to give themselves a 1-0 lead in the tie.

The winner will go through to the group phase of the competition while the loser will get a chance to compete in the latter stages of the Confederation Cup.
