Bolton's Owen Coyle wins manager of the month

Bolton's Owen Coyle has been named Barclays Manager of the Month for March after a string of impressive results in a difficult month for the club.

Bolton won three consecutive Premier League games in March, the victories coming either side of midfielder Fabrice Muamba's cardiac arrest.

"We have moved in the right direction and we have to keep it going," .

"We would like to win the award again for April because it would mean we are continuing to progress.

"We have given ourselves a platform and now have an opportunity to go and win the matches and points that will see us remain in the Premier League."

Muamba, 23, was technically "dead" for 78 minutes after collapsing at White Hart Lane.

Bolton's game at Aston Villa, originally scheduled for 20 March, was postponed as a result but Muamba has made progress and posted a picture from his hospital room on Twitter last week.

Coyle's side beat QPR 2-1 before the Tottenham match and followed that up with a 2-1 win over Blackburn in their first game afterwards.

Although they lost the rearranged FA Cup tie 3-1 at Spurs, they came from behind to win 3-2 at Wolves last weekend to move up to 16th in the table.
