Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale hunting for player funding

Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale says he is looking to try to find the funds to bring in a new centre-back to cover for the injuries his squad has suffered.

Danny Coles is out for the season after breaking a bone in his spine, as is Scott Bennett after a hamstring problem while Richard Duffy has a groin injury.

It leaves Tisdale with just Troy Archibald-Henville and Jonathan Fortune available in central defence.

"I have find a way to raise the money in order to get someone," Tisdale said.

"I don't have any money to bring anyone in," he told 91热爆 Radio Devon.

"We let go our two young centre-halves at Christmas-time and we're now left with quite a hole in our defence.

"It looks like Jon Fortune is going to have to play, he's been out for a long time, Saturday was his first game for almost a year.

"He was signed as a bit of a long stop for us over the next 10 games, someone who could fill in with a bit of experience, and maybe play the odd game off the bench should he need to."

But Tisdale says all his thoughts, and those of his team, are with Coles.

"Of course our priority is for Danny to recover and for him to get to full fitness," he said.

"It's going to be a very difficult few months and beyond for him.

"It's bad enough in isolation anyway, but when you consider how we are with our injury situation, it just makes life a lot harder."
