Telford United appoint Mike Davies as assistant manager
AFC Telford United have appointed former The New Saints boss Mike Davies as assistant manager to Andy Sinton.
Davies has replaced Darren Read, as Sinton steps up the Bucks' fight to stay in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
"I'm delighted to work with someone like Andy Sinton at a club as prestigious as Telford," Davies told 91热爆 Radio Shropshire.
"It was a little bit out of the blue, but when an opportunity like this comes along you grab it with both hands."
Davies led The New Saints to progress in the Champions League and the Europa League this season and last - most notably with victories over Cliftonville and Bohemians, and close-run games against Belgian giants Anderlecht.
He was also in charge when TNS beat Telford in the Shropshire Senior Cup final this season before resigning in November 2011.
"I won't big myself up because that's not me, but we had some good stories at TNS, a few cups and progression in Europe - but it's time to move on," he added.
"I knew Andy Sinton before and obviously we sold Chris Sharp to him at Telford this season, and I'm delighted he called me.
"There's a job to do - Telford's a great club with some great players and a great club infrastructure, and there's a lot of potential there."
Telford - promoted from the Blue Square North last May - have slipped to within two points of the relegation zone.
Read will remain at the club and continue his role as youth-team manager.
