Jason Puncheon is for sale says Southampton boss Adkins
Southampton boss Nigel Adkins says winger Jason Puncheon is for sale and has invited offers for the 25-year-old.
Puncheon returned from his loan spell at QPR earlier in the month and Adkins says his future lies elsewhere.
"The fact of the matter is, if Jason plays one more game for Southampton he can't play for anybody else this season," Adkins told 91热爆 Radio Solent.
"The transfer window is open, if someone wants to come and sign Jason Puncheon then they can."
Earlier in the week Puncheon's agent Tony Finnigan told 91热爆 Sport that Saints had turned down a "fair" offer for Puncheon from Blackpool and said he was not wanted by Saints.
Adkins said he was not "aware" of any offer from Blackpool and refuted a further claim from Finnigan that Puncheon was training with the "kids" at Saints.
"I am not going to talk about any agents' comments," said Adkins.
"Jason came back from him loan at QPR and he did a full MOT and I sat down and had a chat with him then.
"He did another fitness test this week. We integrate all the players into training and he trained with the first team on Thursday as did all of the development players but the youth team had the session off.
"I've had another conversation with Jason and his head is down, he is working hard and whatever happens, happens."
Under football laws Puncheon can only play for two clubs in any one season, although he can be registered at three.
That means while Saints look to sell him he will not play for the club again, and also makes another loan move unlikely.
"Jason does not want to go out on loan, he wants to get on and play football," added Adkins.
"Decisions will get made and everyone is working hard to draw a conclusion and resolve the situation."
