Jack Butland keen on Cheltenham Town loan return

Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland has said he would consider a return to Cheltenham Town on loan.

The 18-year-old has just completed a three-month spell with the League Two side, where he made 12 appearances and kept seven clean sheets.

"My target now is to get into the Birmingham side - that's my main priority," he told 91热爆 Gloucestershire.

"But if that doesn't happen then I'll be looking for another loan option and Cheltenham would be one."

Butland continued: "I'd be more than happy to come back. It's such a great club and it's going in the right direction, so I wouldn't rule it out at all.

"When I get back [to Birmingham] we'll sit down and have a chat about where we see things going. We've got a couple of weeks until January to see what we want to do."

The England Under-21 international had never played a Football League game before his arrival at Whaddon Road but boss Mark Yates made him first-choice keeper, ahead of Scott Brown, after some impressive displays.

"I'm desperately keen to bring him back," added Yates. "Jack's really enjoyed it. He's been part of a team that have done really well.

"He knows that, and Birmingham know that, and I think they are doing everything they can to try and make that happen. It's doing him the world of good playing games and he's played a big part for us."
