Folkestone Invicta's FA Trophy run has come to an end with a 3-1 defeat by Blue Square Bet South side Staines Town.

The visitors were already 3-0 up when Frankie Chappell scored a late consolation.

Manager Neil Cugley told 91热爆 Radio Kent he felt the upset was there for the taking.

He said: "They were no better than us. I don't think there was any difference and that's the disappointment."

He added: "They never bossed the game at all and that pleases me because it tells me my players can play at a higher standard. We just had no luck at all."

Five Kent clubs are left in the FA Trophy but four of them will need a midweek replay. Welling conceded a late equaliser to draw 2-2 with near neighbours Thamesmead, Tonbridge drew 1-1 at Bishop's Stortford with full-back Michael Boateng scoring their late equaliser and Dartford drew 0-0 at Eastbourne Borough.

Dover Athletic lost at Boreham Wood for the second time in two weeks. Their 1-0 FA Trophy defeat comes 14 days after they were beaten in the league, and Bromley slumped to their sixth straight defeat, beaten 3-1 by Didcot Town of the Southern League Division One South and West.

Elsewhere, Kwesi Appiah scored his 23rd and 24th goals of the season in a 2-0 win at Harrow Borough in the Isthmian Premier Division and there were other Isthmian League wins for Ramsgate, Hythe and Chatham.

Herne Bay, just days after losing their main sponsor, extended their lead at the top of the Kent League to seven points with a 5-1 win at Fisher. Byron Walker scored four times.
