Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood admitted he was frustrated after his side's 1-0 defeat by Dunfermline in the Scottish Premier League.

A group of fans gathered outside Easter Road after the match to voice their concerns about the club's recent performances.

"It's a shocking result for us and we take the blame for it," said Calderwood.

"We've got to take what's thrown at us and come back and fight another day."

Austin McCann's third-minute goal gave Dunfermline the points at Easter Road to draw level with the Edinburgh side in the Scottish Premier League table.

The former Hearts defender converted a Paul Willis cross from close range for the only goal of the match.

"We shouldn't lose like that, in that manner," said Calderwood.

"We played below par as a team and too many individuals played nowhere near it.

"In the end we didn't have any sustained threat at all."

Calderwood had not spoken to chairman Rod Petrie in the immediate aftermath of the result, but Hibs' annual general meeting takes place on Tuesday and the growing clamour among the fans is for change at boardroom level.

With a record of 12 wins in 49 games after more than a year in charge, Calderwood has come under pressure from fans for the recent poor run of results.

"We've got to be a lot better," Calderwood added. "We've got to prove to them and the outside public that we can sustain good performances and that today doesn't lead you to think that.

"I pick the team, so I've got to take the majority of the responsibility.

"We can go from looking fairly good, looking fairly positive, looking fairly sound to the opposite of all of them."
