AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton has urged the club's fans to maintain realistic expectations after some criticism of his side's poor form.

The newly-promoted Bucks are currently on a run of five games without a win.

"I can't stop what people think but they've got to wise up and understand what we're up against,"

"The full-time scenario against the non-league scenario will always tell but we're doing OK."

Telford, who are 18th in the Blue Square Bet Premier and two points above the relegation zone, host Gateshead on Saturday.

Sinton added: "I've got things in my mind and things in place to bridge that gap even more.

"Once we do that we'll be OK but I'm not worried, just a little bit concerned.

"In the little mini run that we're on, we've had one very poor game and that was [against Ebbsfleet] last Saturday.

"We've got to do a little bit more to make sure we turn the games that are tight in our favour.

"Everyone needs to stick together, recognise where we are, what we're doing and what we're up against."
