Torquay United could be top - striker Rene Howe
Torquay United striker Rene Howe says the Gulls squad are good enough to be top of the League Two table.
The 24-year-old's equaliser earned Torquay a 3-3 draw with Rotherham on Saturday, their third successive league draw to leave them in 10th place.
"The amount of games we've drawn now, we could've been top of the table by a good few points," Howe told 91热爆 Devon.
"As long as we're not losing then that's OK, we just need to pick up a win in our next game."
The former Peterborough man says he is unsure as to why the side are starting games so poorly - Torquay have only led once in their last five matches - and is just as mystified by the club's vastly improved performance in the second half of games.
"We always have to fight back, we can't place our finger on it, but we hope it doesn't continue," added Howe, who joined the Gulls in the summer.
"I don't know whether it's the kick up the backside at half time, but we've just got to keep plugging away."
