Sheffield Wednesday net Derby's Stephen Bywater on loan

Sheffield Wednesday have signed out-of-favour Derby County goalkeeper Stephen Bywater on a 93-day emergency loan deal as cover for the injured Nicky Weaver.

Weaver, 32, was last week and Bywater's deal lasts until 17 December - about the time Weaver should return.

Bywater has been told he can go after falling behind Frank Fielding and Adam Legzdins in the pecking order at Derby.

The 30-year-old had a at the end of last season.

Bywater, who has played 166 games in all competitions for the Rams, is in the final year of his contract at Pride Park.
