Charlton sign ex-Leicester striker Yann Kermorgant
Charlton have signed ex-Leicester City striker Yann Kermorgant following .
The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at French side AC Arles and made 10 starts during his time at Leicester.
"He has good attributes and qualities, he's a bit different to what we already have in the striking department," boss Chris Powell .
"He is very strong aerially, and a good finisher but it never really worked out for him [at Leicester]."
Powell continued: "It happens to a lot of players at particular clubs, it just doesn't really work out for whatever reason so he has a fresh chance here at Charlton."
Kermorgant made nine league starts during the 2009-10 season for the Foxes, but missed from the spot during the side's Championship which went to a penalty shoot-out.
The Frenchman attempted to chip the ball into the net, but Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall caught the effort and he never played for the club again.
"We will work on his fitness and make sure he's ready," Powell continued. "We will see whenever he is ready to come into the squad but it won't be Saturday [against Brighton] for sure."
The Addicks boss also said that some players could be set to depart the Valley, adding: "If it's right for all concerned then they will move on.
"[But] again, we will have to see if someone picks up the phone because I can't physically move them out."
