Striker Leon Clarke joins Swindon Town on two-year deal
Swindon Town have completed the free transfer signing of QPR striker Leon Clarke on a two-year deal.
The 26-year-old still had a year left to run on his contract at Loftus Road but the Premier League side opted to release him on Friday.
Last week Swindon boss Paolo di Canio revealed he was eyeing a move for the forward: "It would be a good chance for him to score 20 to 25 goals minimum."
He is expected to be named in the Robins squad to face Oxford on Sunday.
Clarke started his career at Wolves in 2003 before being loaned out to Kidderminster, QPR and Plymouth.
He joined Sheffield Wednesday in 2007 but only managed 18 goals in 87 games and was again sent out on loan, this time to Oldham and Southend.
Clarke arrived at Loftus Road, but spent six months of last season after failing to hold down a permanent place in the Rangers first team.
