Swansea City agree Gorka Pintado departure
Striker Gorka Pintado has left Swansea City by mutual consent after agreeing to have the final year of his contract at the Liberty Stadium cancelled.
The 33-year-old Spaniard has played only 19 minutes of first-team football since Brendan Rodgers took over as Swansea boss last summer.
Pintado, signed in June 2008, went on loan to Cypriot side AEK Larnaca in January.
"I'm sad to leave," said Pintado. "I have had a happy three years here."
Pintado became an immediate fans' favourite at Swansea with two goals in his first three games - before scoring in a 2-2 draw with Cardiff City in the first south Wales league derby in nine years.
But he suffered an injury-ravaged time with the Swans, enduring cruciate knee ligament damage and shoulder problems.
The forward could return to Cyprus permanently, joining former Swans defender Albert Serran.
