Derby County defender Miles Addison has signed an extended deal which keeps him at Pride Park until the summer of 2013.

Addison's contract was due to expire in 2012 but the Rams were eager to keep him beyond then.

The 22-year old has been during the past two seasons and has played just 38 games.

But chief executive Tom Glick said: "We believe as he gets his match fitness back he will again show that he can be a force in this division, and higher."

Glick added: "Miles has shown great character in the last few seasons to recover from his foot injury.

"Prior to that he was a player recognised with great potential and had just been capped by England Under-21s."

Addison made his debut in 2006 whilst still a scholar in the Derby County Academy, and has made 77 first-team appearances for the Rams.
