Peterborough United accept Craig Mackail-Smith offer
Peterborough United have accepted an offer from a Premier League side for striker Craig Mackail-Smith.
The 27-year-old is set to quit London Road after helping the Posh to victory in Sunday's League One play-off final.
After that success Peterborough's 35-goal top scorer told 91热爆 Radio Cambridgeshire he had his sights set on the top flight.
"I want to play at the highest level I can attain and I want to play in the Premier League," he said.
"Though obviously it all depends on what kind of club comes in for me."
Mackail-Smith took his Posh career tally to 99 with his goal in Sunday's 3-0 win over Huddersfield at Old Trafford.
He was the earlier in the season and has since made clear his desire to move on.
"I'd love to have the chance to sit down and see which club has the best philosophy and ability to nurture me," he said.
Reports are suggesting Everton, Wigan and newly-promoted QPR are all chasing the former Dagenham & Redbridge man.
On Tuesday Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony said: "At the moment there is anywhere between eight and 11 clubs involved.
"We've got two concrete offers and when you get into an auction you always try and push those offers up.
"It will be done in the next couple of weeks but regardless of the Craig thing we'll be pushing ahead with our targets."
