MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has signed a three-year contract extension to keep him at the club until 2014.

The 30-year-old became the youngest Football League boss last May after Paul Ince's departure.

The Dons are fifth in League One and hopeful of a play-off finish.

"MK Dons is a special football club and I cannot wait to continue creating history with the players and staff here."

Dons chairman Pete Winkelman said Robinson's success in the role had come as no surprise.

"There were a few eyebrows raised when I appointed Karl last summer," he said.

"He has done a fantastic job and is now emerging as one of the most talked about young managers in football."
