World and Olympic champion Laura Trott completed a successful return to competitive action with omnium gold at the Track World Cup in Glasgow.

The Briton did enough in the closing 500m time trial to overhaul Australian Ashlee Ankudinoff for gold.

Trott had already won the team pursuit with Dani King and Elinor Barker at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome on Friday.

"I can't believe it," Trott told 91热爆 Sport. "I'm so tired. I don't even know what I'm doing here!"

Trott won the the individual pursuit, the fourth of six omnium events, on Sunday morning but was seventh in the scratch race to fall behind Ankudinoff overall by two points.

She therefore had to beat the Australian by a minimum of two places in the closing time trial to take gold, and her time of 35.867 seconds was enough.

The 20-year-old will now head to Australia for a training camp, admitting: "It's so hard coming back from the Olympics and having to get your head around racing again. I'm not fit - I'm not going to lie.

"I just came here for the home crowd and the support they gave us at the Olympics - you just want to give them something back.

"To compete in your home World Cup, I just wanted to do it and to say thanks. I can't believe that I won."

Becky James finished fifth and Jess Varnish ninth in the women's keirin, with Germany's Kristina Vogel taking her second gold of the weekend.

"To get a silver yesterday in the individual sprint, I was really happy with that," said Varnish. "With the keirin, it's about getting in there and learning."

A strong German team also dominated the men's individual sprint as Stefan Boetticher won gold.

Olympic champion Jason Kenny was absent after a heavy crash in the keirin on Saturday, leaving Philip Hindes as Britain's sole representative.

Hindes himself tumbled to the track after suffering a slipped chain as he lost to Czech Pavel Kelemen in the first round.

"First proper sprint competition since junior worlds," Hindes "You learn from mistakes and today I learned a lot!"
