County Championship: Leicestershire and Sussex settle for rain-hit draw
Leicestershire and Sussex had to settle for a draw as rain prevented any play on the final day of their County Championship Division Two game.
The home side were due to resume on 86-1 in their second innings at Grace Road, 270 in arrears, with Rishi Patel 37 not out and Louis Kimber on 18.
Heavy showers, however, prevented any possibility of a prompt start.
And umpires James Middlebrook and Paul Pollard eventually called the game off at the scheduled lunch break.
Both teams have drawn their opening two Championship games of the next season.
Leicestershire will be away to Derbyshire, while Sussex take on Gloucestershire at Hove in the third round of fixtures, starting on Friday.
