Only 15.5 overs were possible on a rain-affected first day between Glamorgan and Derbyshire in Cardiff.

Following a washed out morning session the home side chose to field after winning the toss.

Derbyshire lost two quick wickets as Graham Wagg (1-28) had Chesney Hughes caught at cover for nine.

Wayne Madsen then fell lbw to Andy Carter (1-3) for one but Ben Slater (25 not out) took the away side to 47-2 before rain stopped any further play.

Glamorgan captain Jacques Rudolph:

"I am frustrated with that long wait before play began.

"But we have to get on with it and remain positive, although the weather will probably frustrate us further.

"We will try our best to win the game."
