England finished their preparations for Monday's first Test with the West Indies by playing out an uneventful draw against a St Kitts & Nevis XI.

England captain Alastair Cook (22) and Ian Bell (43) both looked in good form before their respective retirements.

But Jonathan Trott fell for two, a day after he was out for a duck while batting for St Kitts.

Opener Adam Lyth, in his first England appearance, was caught for 23 as England went on to make 222 all out.

That had followed St Kitt's score of 303-9, with England's Gary Ballance and Joe Root having a bat for the hosts.

Cook opted to keep Chris Jordan and James Tredwell in the middle late in the day, suggesting the pair will be in line to start the first Test in Antigua next week.

England play two further Test matches at St George's on 21 April and Bridgetown on 1 May.
