County Championship: Rory Burns extends lead over Leicestershire
A second century of the season by Rory Burns put Surrey in a commanding position against Leicestershire.
Niall O'Brien ended unbeaten on 89 as the hosts moved from 303-7 overnight to 373 all out, still trailing by 107.
Zafar Ansari (43) and Burns (102) put on 103 for the first wicket in reply as Surrey stayed in control, despite Jigar Naik's impressive 3-61.
And Surrey increased their lead to 324 runs as they closed the day on 217-4 in their second innings.
A series of stoppages for rain and bad light halted the visitors' progress, but they ended day three with Steven Davies unbeaten on 25 and Jason Roy on five not out.
Surrey, currently second in Division Two, were boosted by the news that leaders Worcestershire were beaten by seven wickets by Gloucestershire.
