YB40: Glamorgan lose to Gloucestershire despite Mark Wallace century

Gloucestershire beat Glamorgan in a thrilling Yorkshire Bank 40 match in Cardiff on Sunday.

A swashbuckling 151 runs from 156 balls by Christopher Dent underpinned Gloucestershire's healthy 288-5 from their 40 overs.

Glamorgan's reply got off to the worst possible start as James Fuller trapped William Bragg lbw with his second ball.

Mark Wallace's unbeaten 118 sparked the chase, but he lost support when Graham Wagg (54 off 31) fell late to Fuller.

Former England paceman Simon Jones played his first first-team game of the season for Glamorgan and finished with 1-41 from his seven overs.

91热爆 Radio Wales' Edward Bevan:

"Glamorgan's batsmen made a great effort to chase down Gloucestershire's formidable total of 288 for five.

"After slumping to 27-3 no one gave Glamorgan any hope but Mark Wallace, with a superb innings of 118 not out, kept them in the game.

"He was well supported by the middle order, especially Graham Wagg who struck a rapid 54.

"20 were needed from the final over but Glamorgan fell agonisingly short by just seven runs.

"Unfortunately Glamorgan's bowlers performed indifferently but the batsmen - notably Wallace - almost made up for that with a terrific run chase."
