Middlesex-Warwickshire: Bears face uphill battle at Uxbridge
Title-chasing Warwickshire need final-day drama at Uxbridge if they are to stand any chance of forcing a County Championship victory against Middlesex.
After bowling out the Bears for 324 to earn a healthy first-innings lead, Middlesex then stretched that to 182 in reaching 104-3 by the third day close.
Earlier, former Bears skipper Ian Westwood completed his first century of the season, going on to make 111.
Tim Murtagh returned the best Middlesex bowling figures, taking 4-77.
Resuming on 178-2, the Bears quickly lost skipper Jim Troughton, who did not add to his overnight 60.
But Westwood went on to make the 11 runs he needed for his ton, backed by 40 from Tim Ambrose, as the visitors trailed by 78 on first innings.
Neil Dexter then led the way for Middlesex second time around, finishing unbeaten on 45.
