Joe Denly stars as Middlesex beat Kent in FL t20
Middlesex took four wickets in four balls as they comfortably defended a daunting Joe Denly-inspired total of 208 to beat Kent by 48 runs and climb off the bottom of their FL t20 group.
Opener Denly took advantage of some wayward bowling to plunder a superb unbeaten 90 and he was ably assisted by Paul Stirling's destructive 63.
Kent started promisingly and Sam Northeast (60) helped them reach 89-0.
But they collapsed to 121-6 in the middle overs and never recovered.
Middlesex dominated their Kent attack with former Kent batsman Denly and Stirling supported by a classy 36 from 18 balls by Eoin Morgan.
Azhar Mahmood went for 38 runs off his first 12 deliveries and ended with figures of 1-61 off his four overs.
Kent's reply started promisingly but Neil Dexter took 3-22 to leave the home side in deep trouble.
And Middlesex were able to ease to just their second win of the campaign.
