Sussex batsman Chris Nash vows runs will come

Sussex batsman Chris Nash is confident he will be back among the runs soon.

The 28-year-old, who scored over 1,900 runs last season, has only scored 68 runs from five innings this year.

He told 91热爆 Sussex: "As an opening batsman, it's been hard work. You've got to decide whether to stick or twist with the ball seaming about.

"I have no problems with having a few lean innings. It's making sure when you do get in that you get that big score. The runs will come."

After a rain-affected draw against the West Indies, Sussex return to County Championship action on Wednesday when they welcome champions Lancashire to Hove.

"Lancashire will be aching to get a win under their belts but we need to keep them down there," Nash continued.

"When a side has lost three or four games, if you can get on top of them on the first day it can be hard to come back. That will be a big focus for us.

"If you look at our side, we've got bases covered. We've got a world-class spinner, quick and skilful bowlers and a batting line-up you'd be happy with in any division.

"We want to get some runs on the board and back the bowlers up."
