Dimitri Mascarenhas signs new Hampshire deal

Hampshire all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas has agreed a new two-year deal.

The 34-year-old, who is the club's longest-serving player, will also captain the side in the Friends Life t20 competition.

Mascarenhas told 91热爆 Radio Solent: "I had a tough year with injury but hopefully next year I can come back fitter and stronger.

"I've always wanted to stay here. I've never wanted to leave."

However, the former club captain is confident he can put his injury concerns behind him.

"There was a time where I worried I wasn't in a position to be offered a new deal," he added.

"It was tough and it took a lot of hard work but I think I showed with the ball in my hand that I'm worth a new contract."
